There is nothing more important to new parents than sleep. That’s why I knew writing a Sleep Sense Program Review would be a must!
Sleep training our baby wasn’t something we considered before he was born. After many nights with zero sleep and countless tears we were (almost) ready to try anything.
My aim is to answer all of your questions on sleep training, why it’s important and IF it will benefit your family.
We started sleep training our son at 11 weeks old.
Cue the shock of judgmental friends, relatives and other moms who co-slept with their children and disapproved.
Usually, one of these questions was paired with a comment on how “it’s such a short stage of life” or we “should enjoy these nights, cause one day we’ll miss them.”
There are so many myths when it comes to sleep training!
I was more solidified in giving it a chance because I wanted to respond, “LOOK LINDA, I’d enjoy this phase of life a little more if I didn’t feel like I was dying all the time.” The lack of sleep was getting to me emotionally too.
I never valued what sleep does for your sanity until I was losing mine.
With sleep training, we went from a zombie-like state and ACTUALLY started to enjoy parenthood.
We had the energy to be present with each other and to care for our son. My husband and I slowly stopped bickering and the resentment I was starting to feel slowly vanished.
Sound familiar? Is this the way you’re feeling right now? I’m glad you’re here reading this!
What is sleep training?
Sleep training is creating a routine so your child can easily understand how to fall and stay asleep.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
It’s important simply because sleep plays a major role in your baby’s development. Getting the right amount of sleep significantly lowers a child’s chance of becoming obese, being hyperactive and is also proven to increase their IQ.
Your baby is developing so rapidly (especially the first few years) that their brain and body need to get enough sleep to function properly.
Let’s talk about the pros and cons of the program!
THE MYTHS I BELIEVED BEFORE SLEEP TRAINING:
Myth #1: The longer I kept my baby awake during the day would mean the longer he would sleep through the night.
It’s the opposite. The better your baby naps during the day, the better they will sleep at night.
Myth #2: That sleep training isn’t natural for an infant.
Wrong again. Babies need direction and routine, it’s how they learn!
MY MAIN PROS:
Once I read the book and became educated on exactly how valuable sleep is, it was a no-brainer. I would implement their system immediately.
Pro #1 : There is no step by step manual for parenting but there is for sleep training. The Sleep Sense program is an easy read that takes all the questions out of what to do and the reason behind it.
Pro #2: The book is an instant download so you can start as early as right now if you’re ready.
Pro #3: The Sleep Sense system eliminates “props” like soothers, swings, falling asleep while feeding and teaches your baby how to self-soothe.
Pro #4: By night 4 our baby was sleeping from 6:30pm-7:30am with one wake up to feed. At 6 months old he was sleeping through the night.
Pro #5: It is personalized to what you are comfortable with and doesn’t push your boundaries.
Pro #6: You are supported. There are video training systems, a phone hotline and personalized e-mail support sessions available.
MY only CON:
The only way the program works is with consistency so your child knows exactly what you expect from them.
When you’re doing the same routine over and over your baby knows the next step.
I thrive on consistency and routine but for some, that can feel restricting. My first baby was really fussy before sleep training. After, his mood drastically improved. He was also waking up multiple times a night when his soother popped out. I was happy to eliminate that and start sleeping again too!
I didn’t mind working with his schedule because no one (including myself) likes a screaming baby in the car, grocery store or restaurant.
who wrote this & what are their qualifications?
This was a big deal for me.
Dana Obleman, the woman who created the Sleep Sense program, has a degree in Psychology and Elementary Education. She’s been a sleep consultant for over 15 years and featured on CTV, CNN, Today’s Parent and Web MD.
She’s the best in the business and since this manual has worked for not only me but every single one of my friends as well. I believe this is the best investment you can make for both mama and baby’s mental health.
If that’s not enough, there is a 1 year no questions asked money back guarantee! If for some reason it isn’t working with you, just send an e-mail to support for your full refund.
WHAT’S THE COST?
There are 3 different packages to consider when purchasing Sleep Sense.
- Basic: Includes Sleep Sense e-book, Quick Start Guide & Video Library
- Most Popular Gold: Includes everything from the Basic package + 14 day video training and baby sleep bootcamp training videos.
- VIP Platinum: Includes everything from both packages + telephone hotline + personalized e-mail support sessions
Personally, I prefer the Gold Plan but knowing now how I felt before and after sleep training, I would have paid so much more! I also had my sister and a few friends who had used this program before and was able to call them when I had any questions.
I highly recommend clicking the link below and filling out 6 simple questions so you can get a customized sleep report for your current situation.
The biggest mistake I think us Mama’s make is not getting the help and knowledge we need fast enough. I hope this Sleep Sense Review was beneficial.
Do you have more questions? I would be happy to talk with you.
E-mail me at email@example.com – I mean it! I will respond. This Sleep Sense Program changed our life for the better and I hope it can for you too.
