Most people experience heartburn at some point in their lives. It’s uncomfortable and always seems to strike at the most inconvenient time. I started experiencing it daily throughout pregnancy but for many other people spicy foods, alcohol and coffee are also common triggers. I’ve tried tums, gaviscon, avoided specific foods and even been prescribed ranitidine by my doctor to reduce the amount of acid my stomach produces. Nothing worked until now.
I can’t take full credit for this recipe because it was actually my girlfriend (thanks Shev) who swore by this drink and encouraged me to give it a shot. I was so surprised that the relief lasted for days and (so far) has worked for anyone who has tried it.
I’ll warn you that it doesn’t feel great while you’re drinking it. It’s not the taste of the drink itself (that part is pretty good) but the burning sensation of citrus and acid that’s a bit unpleasant. However, it works so well that I think it’s worth it.
If one drink doesn’t take it fully away, make one more immediately. I’ve never had to go beyond 2 drinks.
