Once you’ve mastered how to cook frozen chicken breast in the Instant Pot, your meal options are endless.
I always keep a batch of shredded chicken ready to go in the fridge.
It’s a versatile protein that keeps everyone in the house fed, healthy and happy. With the right seasoning, you can literally throw it into anything!
Leftovers will never be boring again. You have options and don’t ever have to eat the same thing twice, unless you want to!

Have you used your Instant Pot yet? Don’t be intimidated. It’s fool-proof easy. Promise!
Add your frozen chicken, 1/2 cup chicken broth (or water) and spices. Close the lid and make sure the seal valve on top is upward on “SEALING.”
Plug in your Instant Pot and hit the button “Pressure Cook” at the bottom right corner. Use the “+” arrow to set how many minutes you require for your chicken.
THAT’S IT. WALK AWAY!
When I’m making 5-6 large breasts I like to cook them for 16 minutes. For 3-4 average chicken breasts, I recommend 12 minutes.
DO NOT THAW. Don’t waste your time.
Your Instant Pot will now go back to the “ON” setting and will take 10-15 minutes to build up pressure before your minutes will appear on the front pad again and the cooking process will begin.
Your Instant Pot will chime and notify you when it’s finished. Immediately give it a quick release by pushing the valve down to “VENTING.”
Be careful! This is going to release extremely hot steam so make sure your Instant Pot isn’t under your cupboards or around any children.
Once your pot is done venting you will hear a “click” and the lid unlock. It is then safe to twist open the Instant Pot. I like to use oven mitts to remove the inner metal pot and discard HALF the remaining liquid.
I shred my chicken and add it back to the broth so when we microwave or re-heat it later, it’s incredibly moist.
Shredding time! Take one breast out at a time and shred with two forks. It will flake right off.
Add it back into your Instant Pot on the “keep warm” setting or eat immediately!
